Completed

January 2026

Nineteen original wood windows, most of them painted shut, several with failed sills. The house was losing heat through the rough openings as much as through the glass.

We went full-frame rather than insert, which meant we could see and fix the rot in four of the openings, re-flash every sill pan, and spray-foam the gaps properly instead of stuffing them. Interior casings were removed carefully and reinstalled, so the trim profile in the older rooms is still the original.

Five days start to finish, with the house closed in every night.

Scope of work

  • 19 openings, full-frame replacement
  • Sill pan flashing on every opening
  • Rot repair in four rough openings
  • Original interior casings removed and reinstalled
They found rot in four of the openings and showed me each one before they priced the repair. Nothing turned up on the invoice that I had not already seen with my own eyes.
