A corner lot with two street frontages and no privacy on either side. The homeowners wanted height without the fence reading like a wall from the sidewalk.
We ran 180 feet of six-foot cedar in a board-on-board pattern, stepped to follow the grade rather than cutting a flat line and leaving gaps at the bottom. Posts went in on 24-inch concrete footings below the frost line, with a gravel base under each so water drains instead of sitting against the post.
The street-facing run got a lattice top and a wider gate post to carry a double gate for the trailer.
Scope of work
They stepped the fence to the slope instead of levelling it and leaving a gap for the dog to get under. Nobody else who quoted the job even mentioned the grade.
